Thank you. If we can only keep our eyes on Christ every day and at all times, to think about him and his words, read our Bibles, and know him by becoming one with him as he is with the Father. If we can do that, we will be able to control the flesh by the Spirit. If our only concern is about him and how he sees us through his eyes, then we will only long to please him because we love him. We mustn't let things that are going on in the world sway us from our focus on him. I think that's what seems so hard to do for everyone because they are distracted by competing attention to what the world has to offer and wants us concerned with. It's all distractions to keep our minds off of Christ and who we are through him. He has given us power and authority, but most are concerned with doing things through their own ability as a god. They haven't started to let the Spirit show them what is in them that needs to be taken out. Our hearts must be pure, only desiring to be in right standing with God, loving him, and living by his ways so that we might not sin against God. If that is our heart's desire, then we have a pure heart. His Spirit will search our hearts out and reveal to us those things that need to change to be more like him and to be counted worthy to be called children of God. Right now, the world without Christ are sons of men. We must come to see that what we are is not what he wants to make us into. I hope this for all of humanity, that we can be transformed by his glorious light and let his Spirit fill us with a new life and show us the path forward to where he is waiting for us to be glorified by his presence. Also, I think it's important to remember that anyone, including Jews, who have rejected Christ or are still in unbelief, will eventually believe by seeing that what was intended for them has indeed been instilled in us, to the point that they will be sorry, and regretful, and in a way, beg to know from us what the Lord has taught us and how to be saved themselves. We are going to see this turning when they realize that who they are trying to exalt as a Messiah is not going to be who Jesus was. He who has already been given that they crucified as they also killed the prophets. The world without Christ is blind to who he is because #1, they were born that way, but 2., they are blinded by their own lusts of corruption in the world. They seek money. They seek material gain. They trust in their riches. They have not came to the conclusion that God is love and has love for all. Since they rejected him, he made his supper available to the Gentiles, which he grafted in, yet they still see us as something unclean and in opposition to the ways of God. He says he is able to graft them in again into the two olive trees, or the tree of life, but that vine is Christ, and we are the branches. I guess it's our job to try to bring them to the saving knowledge of the grace of God to reconciliation or right standing with him through Christ's shed blood, and to proclaim his wonderous works as a witness to them, filled with the Holy Spirit, as was the plan when Moses was supposed to speak to the rock for water to come out of it. He was trying to show them the power by his word to speak to it, and he wanted to give them the Holy Spirit then, but Moses disobeyed and hit it as he did before, which is why he wasn't permitted to go into the Promised Land. Jesus is taking us over the water into the Promised Land, being led by his Spirit. That's why when Jesus was glorified on the Mt. of Transfiguration you see Moses there with Elijah, because one represents the law and the other the Spirit. Jesus brought them both together to fulfil the promise of eternal life and the giving of the Holy Spirit, to reconcile us back into right standing with God. Remember, the Lord said they are a stubborn and stiff-necked people, and they have idolatry in their heart, because it is the Babylonian, Egyptian influence, the Baal worship, all of those things, that has created wicked children because they went their own way, and the way of Cain, and they turned their backs on God or either incorporated the idol worship into the holy temples. We see that in Bethel and Dan of the divided Northern Kingdom. Jesus still wants to bring all of Israel, both kingdoms into one flock guarded and led by the Shepherd. He is not going to neglect continuing to try to save his people, but if they refuse him when time is no more, just as he told the Pharisees, I leave you to your house desolate. They have made their own house or temple to themselves and their idols, when it should be a house built wholly consecrated to God. This is the difference in the mindset and what motivates man in general before he comes to the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. They think that keeping the law and being born of the 12 tribes of Israel makes them holy, when it does not. It's only by the blood and by the Spirit that they can be made in right standing with God. They're actually trying to create chaos to bring on the Messianic reign of the kingdom, but God has not planned it to present itself that way. Jesus brought in the kingdom of heaven. A kingdom that was conferred to him by the Father, that he is conferring to us. It's within us. Maybe we could ask the Lord to appeal to their hearts by shining his light into it and opening their spiritual eyes and ears, because that light is Christ. The Light of the world. Because it is only by recognizing him and who he is that the Spirit can be given.
I think their sight is still on the physical earthly Promised Land instead of the heavenly kingdom of eternity where eternal life is promised. They don't seem to be focused too much on the hereafter but only on the fleshly, earthly, physical existence instead of the spiritual one.
