Well written. I find surrendering the past to be incredibly difficult. To be honest, I find much of what is modern Christianity to be difficult, especially considering how our burden is supposed to be easy (Matthew 11:30). Thanks be to Jesus for saving us who are willing - at least that burden is removed!
Thank you very much. It is difficult for us because we are accustomed to our own ways of doing things and we've loved deeply those things we have left behind. If we let the Lord show us gently who we are and who he is, we can live in perfect trust, peace, and rest in him, knowing he carries us safely through it all to bring us home to be with him. It's really just about loving him more than anything or anyone, our hurts, our doubts, our fears, ourselves, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. The rest of it is only used to get us there. Keep your faith, trust in him, and read his word and you're going to make it just fine. You're welcome.
